River Rock Casino Resort
Gently themed on a Rocky Mountain lodge
Perched on the edge of the Fraser River in Richmond, this elaborate luxury resort started as a modest project and grew into a large undertaking. DA managed changes to the project and completed the work while maintaining a tight schedule and prioritizing the client's shifting goals. In the end, DA's creativity, close collaboration, and strong leadership enabled the completion of the largest casino resort in Western Canada.
Irving K. Barber Learning Centre
A 21st-century approach to learning
Dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge, the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre is bringing the world to the people of B.C. This state-of-the-art facility at the University of British Columbia provides on-site and remote access to a variety of educational opportunities, as well as UBC's extensive library system, and other collections around the globe. Innovative, interactive, and on the technological cutting edge, this project also involved preserving an important part of the school's history; in addition to its work on the new facility, DA guided restoration of the original 1925 library, which is at the heart of the Learning Centre complex.
